Ten years of experience in business management in France and the United States prior to law school has given me a valuable perspective on the legal needs of the foreign community in the United States. As a businessman operating in both France and in the United States, I found it increasingly useful and necessary to understand the U.S. legal system, particularly how it differs from civil law jurisdictions. That interest led me to law school and, ultimately, to a profound admiration for the American legal system and a strong desire to make it work for other non-native residents and visitors here.

I began practicing U.S. law in 1996 at an immigration boutique in suburban D.C. Two years later, I established my own firm in partnership with Bruno Mauprivez. Although immigration law remains one of the firm's primary practice areas, my practice has expanded to include the many other areas of law to serve people of foreign origin who come to the United States to visit, work or reside, including business law, wills, domestic relations, personal injury claims, and, increasingly, civil litigation. Of particular interest to me are the legal issues associated with "choice of law" and "conflict of laws" (for example, cases where both U.S. and French law may apply and would produce different results).
